Student Alliance for Mental Health Innovation and Action (StAMINA)

After the KHC identified mental health as a top priority, employer members began discussing how to address the mental health of not just their current workforce but that of their future workforce. Thus, the KHC began a new collaborative partnership with the Student Alliance for Mental Health Innovation and Action (StAMINA). StAMINA is a network of passionate students driving the movement to improve youth mental health. StAMINA’s website can be found here.


  • Elevate student perspectives and insights to improve youth mental wellbeing, readying our generation for school, work, and life

  • Engage students as program design & policy partners; Cultivate youth mental health leaders

  • Decrease stigma surrounding mental health and increase effective mental health education, prevention, and treatment for KY youth

  • Wide-ranging assessment of mental health perceptions, contributing factors, and barriers to engaging with resources

  • Develop organizational capacity, recruit key stakeholders and partnerships, and secure sustainable grant funding

  • Leverage youth insights and leadership for impactful innovation at state and local levels, in partnership with
    community stakeholders
